Graveyard One-upmanship

Both my parents have unfortunately snuffed it, which is a bit shit...but not as shit as the attitude of my fellow bereaved. My family have been very tasteful and post cremation we bought a small plaque to place next to the local church. This just had names, dates and a small, personal message on a 6"x4" brass plaque. Very tasteful and understated, especially with 2 nice (and small) vases of flowers.

Some people, however, seem to take the death of a loved one as an excuse to indulge in some sort of competitive outpouring with huge plaques, massive (yet very tasteless) bouquets, which never last as they are shit, but big, and in one memorable case fairy lights. Honestly, I ask you when you snuff it, do you want to be commemorated by what appears to be a frigging chav xmas decoration.

What happened to genuine emotion, rather than the fake Diana-isms that seem to pass these days. Makes me bloody mad, it does......

Just ask Jesus, He must be fucking livid - if it's not stupid lights and reinder, it's bunny rabbits and coloured eggs.
